BTS Agency Confirms Jimin and Song Da-eun’s Past Relationship

Big Hit Music, the agency representing the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, confirmed on August 31, 2023, that member Jimin was previously in a relationship with actress Song Da-eun, but the two are no longer together. This announcement follows a surge of speculation after a video of Song surprising Jimin as he exited an elevator went viral, reigniting interest in their rumored connection.
The dating rumors between Jimin and Song Da-eun began circulating as early as 2022. Fans noted various signs, such as the couple wearing matching accessories and attending the same events. Despite the ongoing speculation, Big Hit Music initially chose to remain silent on the matter, citing respect for both Jimin’s and Song’s personal lives.
In a statement issued to media outlets, Big Hit Music clarified the situation, saying, “However, since many speculative reports regarding [Jimin’s] private life, as well as false rumors, have arisen, we are making a statement to clarify the facts.” The agency emphasized that while there were mutual feelings and a connection between Jimin and Song, that relationship is now in the past.
The company urged fans and media alike to “refrain from making reckless speculations about his private life” and requested that their actions not cause harm to either Jimin or Song. This marks a notable moment for Big Hit Music, as it is the first time the agency has officially addressed dating rumors involving a member of BTS.
The confirmation of their past relationship highlights the challenges that arise when public figures navigate their private lives under intense scrutiny. Fans of both Jimin and Song Da-eun have responded with a mix of understanding and continued support for their individual careers, as both continue to thrive in their respective fields.
As public interest in celebrity relationships remains high, this incident serves as a reminder of the delicate balance between personal privacy and the public’s fascination with the lives of stars.
