Aurra Bhatnagar Defends Gaurav Khanna After Bigg Boss Criticism

The reality show *Bigg Boss 19* has seen its fair share of drama, but the recent weekend episode on September 20-21, 2023, brought a new wave of controversy. Actor Gaurav Khanna faced pointed criticism from host Salman Khan during a segment known as “weekend ka war.” This criticism came after Khanna was subjected to an incident involving black paint during a task, which sparked outrage among viewers and fans alike.
In the wake of this humiliation, Khanna received public support from his former co-star Aurra Bhatnagar. Bhatnagar, who portrayed Khanna’s on-screen daughter Aadhya in the popular television series *Anupamaa*, took to social media to express her solidarity. She stated, “What happened to Gaurav sir with the black paint was not just wrong; it was deeply disrespectful. No amount of paint can hide the truth of your hard work, dignity, and character.” Her message resonated with many fans, emphasizing Khanna’s grace under pressure.
The incident unfolded during a task where contestants Baseer Ali and Amaal Mallik used black paint on Khanna’s face. While Mallik maintained a sense of dignity throughout the challenge, Ali’s actions were perceived as crossing a line, turning the task into an extreme display of humiliation. Khanna, however, responded to the situation with composure, demonstrating his character in a challenging environment.
Bhatnagar praised Khanna’s integrity, stating, “Respect and class can never be erased. Your journey shows that integrity shines brighter than negativity. We stand with you, proud of the way you held yourself through it all.” Their on-screen relationship in *Anupamaa* was a highlight of the show, captivating audiences with their heartfelt performances.
Following Bhatnagar’s departure from *Anupamaa* last year, Khanna also exited the series a few months later. During the same *Bigg Boss* episode, Khan had reprimanded Khanna for his perceived lack of engagement in the competition, urging him to become more active. The host’s comments have sparked discussions among fans regarding the expectations placed on contestants in the high-pressure environment of reality television.
As the season progresses, the dynamics within the *Bigg Boss* house continue to evolve, with Khanna now at the center of a conversation about respect and dignity in competitive settings. The ongoing support from Bhatnagar and responses from viewers indicate a growing concern for how contestants are treated on reality shows, highlighting the balance between entertainment and respect for individual dignity.
