PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur Funds Rp2.83 Trillion for Badung Roads
PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) has solidified its role as a key partner for local governments by financing a significant road construction initiative in Badung Regency, Bali. The company has committed a total of Rp2.83 trillion to support this essential infrastructure project, with the financing agreement officially signed on October 30, 2025.
The agreement was finalized at the Badung Regent’s Office and involved key figures including the Director of Public Financing and Project Development of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur, Faaris Pranawa, and the Regent of Badung Regency, I Wayan Adi Arnawa. The event also saw the participation of the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, and several other officials from both the regional and national government.
This financing is part of a broader strategy to enhance tourism route connectivity in the region, a vital step for a locale renowned for its attractions such as Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, and Nusa Dua. The development of these roads not only aims to improve transportation efficiency but also to bolster Badung’s status as a premier international tourist destination.
Strategic Partnership for Development
In a statement, Reynaldi Hermansjah, President Director of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur, emphasized the importance of this collaboration. He noted, “We express our appreciation to Badung Regency for building a valuable cooperation with us to improve its public facilities. As a finance institution supporting sustainable development, we are committed to financing regional projects that have long-term economic, social, and environmental impacts.”
The initiative aligns with the Badung Regency Government’s Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD 2025–2029), which outlines a total project value of Rp15 trillion for infrastructure enhancements. The road construction project, covering nine strategic sections with a total length of 11.8 kilometers in North Kuta and South Kuta, is expected to commence immediately. This timely investment allows the local government to allocate fiscal resources to other priority programs.
“The road built today is a fast track to a more prosperous, connected, and world-class future for Badung,” said I Wayan Adi Arnawa, highlighting the project’s potential long-term benefits.
Impact on Local Economy and Tourism
With the realization of this road project, Badung is poised to see significant social and economic enhancements. Improved infrastructure facilitates better access to tourist sites, ultimately benefiting local businesses and the economy. As of August 2025, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur has already disbursed regional financing totaling Rp36.16 trillion, with 75.2% of this funding directed towards road and bridge infrastructure.
PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) was established on February 26, 2009, as a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Finance. It serves as a key player in promoting sustainable development through various financing schemes, including Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). The company’s role extends beyond mere financing; it also aims to foster collaboration between governmental and private entities to expedite infrastructure development across Indonesia.
Through its partnership with the Badung Regency Government, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur underscores a commitment to not only support infrastructure but also to enhance the overall quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
