New Tengah Neighbourhood Centre to Enhance Community Living
Parc Point, the second neighbourhood centre in Tengah, is set to open in the first quarter of 2026. This new facility aims to provide residents with enhanced retail, dining, and wellness options. Key features will include a FairPrice supermarket and a Gourmet Paradise food court, both opening alongside other outlets in phased operations.
Located adjacent to the Parc Residences @ Tengah Build-to-Order (BTO) project, Parc Point spans an area of 16,000 sq m. It will house a new polyclinic and over 40 shops that will offer a diverse range of retail and dining experiences. A notable element of the centre is a 190m-long sheltered retail street, which will connect the neighbourhood centre to three residential blocks within the BTO project.
Complaints regarding the lack of amenities and poor accessibility in Tengah have been voiced by local residents. In response, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong highlighted in March that development plans for the area are progressing well, with further “exciting projects” expected to enhance connectivity and facilities in the coming years. The Housing and Development Board (HDB) emphasized that Parc Point will integrate retail and community spaces while embodying the “active and therapeutic qualities” of a park environment.
Wellness Trail and Community Integration
The design of Parc Point and Parc Residences @ Tengah incorporates a wellness trail that will link the neighbourhood centre’s roof garden to a network of sky terraces on the eighth storey of the residential blocks. These sky terraces will serve as lookout points and recreational spaces, providing panoramic views of the estate’s greenery. The HDB indicated that these areas will feature seating and fitness stations.
Additionally, the wellness trail will include a 1.5km-long path named The Rainforest Walk, which will navigate through the ground floors of the Parc Residences @ Tengah and Parc Clover @ Tengah housing projects. This trail will host various habitat zones, such as a bird sanctuary and a butterfly garden, along with thematic playgrounds. The recreational zone will further connect to the multi-storey carpark at Parc Residences @ Tengah, which boasts a rooftop garden, playgrounds, fitness stations, and a 225m-long running track.
The HDB stated, “As Tengah town is progressively developed, more amenities and infrastructure will be rolled out to serve residents.” Currently, nearly half of the planned 30,000 flats in Tengah have been completed. As of late November, there are already eight preschools in operation, with six more preschools and the first Pioneer Primary School expected to open in the first quarter of 2026.
Looking forward, residents can expect additional amenities such as the Tengah Town Centre, Central Park, and the Jurong Region Line, which promise to further enrich community living in the area.
