Foreign Travelers to Receive NT$600 Vouchers at Taiwan Airport

Foreign travelers with short layovers at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport can now receive NT$600 gift vouchers, according to the Tourism Administration. This initiative, which started on October 6, 2023, aims to enhance tourism consumption at the airport and encourage visitors to explore local attractions during their brief stay.

The program is open to non-Taiwan passport holders who have layovers of up to 24 hours. To redeem the voucher, travelers must register on the campaign website. Once registered, they can present their passport and boarding pass for their next international flight at the Tourism Administration’s Visitor Service Centers located in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

The vouchers are valid at various participating merchants within the airport, including restaurants, duty-free shops, souvenir stores, and other retail services. A comprehensive list of participating merchants is available on the campaign website for easy access.

Encouraging Tourism and Economic Growth

Taoyuan International Airport, known as Taiwan’s primary international gateway, recorded 178,698 transit passengers last year, according to Taoyuan International Airport Corporation. The Tourism Administration hopes this voucher initiative will motivate more international travelers to utilize their layover time to experience Taiwan’s rich food culture and various airport amenities.

By incentivizing travelers to spend during their layovers, the campaign is designed to stimulate business growth for airport merchants. The initiative also contributes to the broader goal of diversifying and enhancing Taiwan’s tourism economy.

The “Enter Taiwan, Enjoy a Gift” campaign is currently open for online registration and will run until October 31, 2024. The Tourism Administration encourages all eligible travelers to take advantage of this opportunity to experience Taiwan during their layovers.
