Cleanova Expands Filtration Solutions with Strategic Acquisitions
Cleanova, a prominent manufacturer of advanced industrial filtration solutions, has significantly expanded its portfolio through the acquisitions of two U.S.-based companies, Airflotek and TES-Clean Air Systems. This announcement was made on January 8, 2026, and marks a strategic move to enter the ultra-clean controlled environment markets critical for industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
Founded in 1993, Airflotek specializes in designing and manufacturing custom air filtration and controlled-environment systems used in state-of-the-art cleanroom environments globally. Their products are essential for sectors that require exceptionally stringent air-quality standards. TES-Clean Air Systems, established in 1986, serves as the exclusive distributor of Airflotek products and brings extensive expertise in cleanroom applications, further enhancing Cleanova’s capabilities.
These acquisitions allow Cleanova to gain immediate access to critical markets where ultra-clean air quality is essential. Industries such as AI-driven semiconductor manufacturing and aseptic pharmaceutical production demand high-performance filtration solutions, making this expansion particularly timely. With this move, Cleanova seeks to solidify its position as a leader in the industrial filtration sector.
Airflotek’s customized fan filter units (FFUs) are designed for advanced cleanroom environments, providing high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) and ultra-low particulate air (ULPA) filtration. These systems are engineered to ensure stringent particle control, meeting demanding regulatory standards while reducing contamination risks. Airflotek also offers a suite of cleanroom infrastructure solutions, further diversifying Cleanova’s offerings.
This acquisition represents the fifth and sixth purchases made by Cleanova since its formation in October 2023, following the addition of Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in 2025. The integration of Airflotek and TES-Clean Air Systems into Cleanova’s operations aims to enhance the company’s reach in high-growth sectors.
Chris Cummins, Chief Executive Officer of Cleanova, stated, “Airflotek and TES-Clean Air Systems are outstanding strategic fits for Cleanova. Their expertise extends our capabilities into semiconductor manufacturing, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals, where ultra-clean air quality is essential.” Cummins emphasized that these acquisitions strengthen Cleanova’s status as a leading independent industrial filtration platform, enabling the company to deliver a broader range of high-performance solutions to its customers.
Both Alan Schlesinger, President of Airflotek, and Jim Harris, Founder of TES-Clean Air Systems, expressed their enthusiasm about joining Cleanova. Schlesinger noted, “We are incredibly proud to be joining Cleanova, a company that shares our commitment to technical excellence and mission-critical filtration performance.” They expressed eagerness to continue supporting their customers with the same reliability and expertise they have built over the years.
The Managing Partners of PX3 Partners, the private equity firm that owns Cleanova, expressed their satisfaction with the acquisitions. They remarked, “These clean-tech businesses significantly strengthen Cleanova’s capabilities in ultra-clean air filtration, while opening access to attractive, high-growth sectors. We are committed to building the world’s leading independent industrial filtration platform.”
To support this expansion, Cleanova engaged several advisors, including Alvarez & Marsal for accounting and tax advice, Aon for benefits and insurance consultation, Debevoise & Plimpton for tax structuring, Perkins Coie for legal matters, and Phoenix Advantage for IT support.
With the addition of Airflotek and TES-Clean Air Systems, Cleanova now employs approximately 1,600 people across various locations, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Ireland, Mexico, the Middle East, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The company is poised for continued growth in the global filtration market, driven by its commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.
