Angela Zhao Takes the Helm as CEO of GLP China
Angela Zhao has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of GLP China, effective January 14, 2026. This strategic move is part of GLP Pte Ltd’s long-term succession planning, aimed at enhancing integration across its new-economy platforms in China. Zhao, a founding member of GLP, brings over two decades of experience with the company, having joined in 2003.
In her previous role as Co-President of China Logistics and Industrial Real Estate from 2018 to 2025, Zhao was instrumental in overseeing a substantial portfolio of approximately 50 million square metres of logistics and industrial space across 70 cities. She played a key role in developing intelligent industrial parks, responding to the evolving needs of high-tech companies and research and development sectors.
Leadership Transition and Future Strategy
Ming Mei, the Global CEO of GLP, lauded Zhao’s contributions to the company, stating, “Angela has been part of GLP from the very beginning and has played an instrumental role in shaping the growth and evolution of our China business.” Mei expressed his confidence in Zhao’s ability to lead GLP China with ambition and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Upon her appointment, Zhao remarked, “I am honored and excited to take on this next chapter after more than 20 years of growing with GLP. Over the years, we have built something truly special — a highly integrated and differentiated new-economy platform.” She emphasized her commitment to leveraging strong execution and a deep understanding of customer needs to foster sustainable growth.
Zhao will report directly to Ming Mei, ensuring a seamless leadership transition. She will be supported by a seasoned management team in China, which aims to drive future success for the organization.
Continuity in Leadership and Strategic Growth
Teresa Zhuge, the immediate past Executive Vice Chairwoman of GLP China, will continue to serve on GLP’s Global Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for GLP China. In her expanded global role, Zhuge will take on broader responsibilities in management and strategic decision-making across the GLP Group.
Zhuge expressed enthusiasm for her new position, stating, “I am excited to step into this broader global role and look forward to contributing in an expanded capacity.” Her ongoing commitment will support the success of both GLP’s China and global platforms.
GLP China is recognized as a leading infrastructure investment manager in the new economy, with integrated capabilities in asset development and operations. The company has built a comprehensive logistics and industrial portfolio, managing approximately 40 million square metres of operational space and serving over 2,500 customers focused on domestic consumption. Additionally, GLP ranks as one of China’s top data center operators, with 1.4 GW of secured IT capacity and nearly 1 GW of renewable capacity under management.
As Zhao steps into her new role, she carries the legacy of a brand synonymous with excellence in warehousing solutions and supply chain competitiveness. Her leadership is expected to guide GLP China through the next phase of growth, capitalizing on emerging opportunities in the logistics and digital infrastructure sectors.
