PSG and England Shine in FIFPRO World 11 Selections
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and the England national team have emerged as prominent figures in the latest FIFPRO World 11 selections, showcasing their dominance in international football. On Monday, FIFPRO, the global players’ association, unveiled its teams of the year, with PSG contributing five players from their recent Champions League-winning squad to the Men’s World 11. Meanwhile, England, the champions of Euro 2025, also celebrated five of its players being named in the Women’s World 11.
The selection process involved over 26,000 players casting their votes, reinforcing the credibility of these awards within the football community. Highlighting a significant milestone, Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, at just 18 years old, has become the youngest player ever selected for the Men’s World 11. Additionally, England’s defender Lucy Bronze achieved a remarkable feat, making her record eighth appearance in the Women’s World 11.
Among the PSG players featured in the Men’s selection is Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who joined Manchester City after his Champions League triumph. He is joined by teammates Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, and Ousmane Dembele, the latter being a recipient of the prestigious Ballon d’Or.
In the Women’s World 11, England successfully defended their Euro title by defeating Spain in the final, which was decided by penalties. The squad includes goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, alongside Bronze, Leah Williamson, Chloe Kelly, and Alessia Russo. Notably, Kelly, Russo, and Williamson also celebrated Champions League success with Arsenal this year. Millie Bright, who had previously retired from international football before the Euros, was also honored with a spot in the selection.
The 2023 FIFPRO World 11 selections also mark a milestone for African representation in women’s football, as two players were included for the first time. Barbra Banda of Zambia made her second appearance, while Ghizlane Chebbak from Morocco earned her debut selection.
