Pulisic Faces Setback with Hamstring Injury Ahead of Key Matches
Christian Pulisic sustained a low-grade injury to his right hamstring during a friendly match where the United States defeated Australia 2-1. The incident occurred on March 25, 2024, when Pulisic was substituted before the 30-minute mark after defender Jason Geria clipped his heel from behind. Following the match, Pulisic traveled to Italy on March 26 for further evaluation.
Serie A club AC Milan confirmed that an MRI scan revealed the extent of Pulisic’s injury and announced he would be re-evaluated in approximately 10 days. Consequently, he is set to miss AC Milan’s upcoming home match against Fiorentina on March 31, 2024.
Implications for Pulisic and the Upcoming World Cup
This injury raises concerns as it occurs just eight months before the World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Pulisic is anticipated to be a significant draw for American fans during the tournament, making his recovery all the more crucial.
Currently, Pulisic is tied as the top scorer in Serie A, alongside Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini, each having netted four goals this season. His performance has been instrumental for AC Milan since joining the club, and his absence could impact the team’s performance in upcoming matches.
Fans and analysts alike will be closely monitoring Pulisic’s recovery process, hoping for a swift return to the pitch. AC Milan will provide updates on his condition as the re-evaluation date approaches, with supporters eager to see their star player back in action.
