Glenn Ong Sparks Dating Speculation with Filipino Actress Jonica Lazo

Radio DJ Glenn Ong has ignited speculation about his romantic life following an Instagram post featuring him with Filipino actress Jonica Lazo. The post, shared on September 30, showed the pair enjoying drinks with friends, prompting discussions about Ong’s dating status.
In an interview with The New Paper on October 4, Ong, who is 55 years old, confirmed he is embracing single life. “I’ve always been with someone and I’ve never been single. Now that I’m single, I have the freedom to really socialise and have as many friends as I like,” he stated. The DJ noted he has also been dating other women, although those encounters have not appeared on social media until now.
Reflecting on the Instagram post, Ong expressed his intention to welcome Lazo to Singapore, acknowledging her status as a well-known figure in the Philippines. “I thought it was nice to welcome Jonica to Singapore since she is a public figure,” he explained. Previously, Ong had remained non-committal about dating rumors, telling The Straits Times he would “neither admit nor deny” the claims.
Ong described this phase of his life as an opportunity to enjoy himself. “I now have the means to just enjoy myself at this stage of my life and do whatever I want,” he said. He elaborated on how he socializes with friends across different ages, from golfing with peers to enjoying nightlife with millennials and Gen Z. “I’m just out there… enjoying myself,” he added.
Jonica Lazo, 24, has appeared in various Filipino productions, including the horror film Isolated and the drama She Means Business. She is familiar with Singapore’s social scene, frequently sharing her experiences at exclusive venues like the Mandala Club and the Infinity Pool at Marina Bay Sands on her Instagram Stories.
Ong’s relationship history includes three marriages, the most recent being with fellow DJ Jean Danker. The couple divorced in December 2024 after eight years together, without children. His previous marriages to DJs Jamie Yeo and Kate Reyes also ended without children, with Reyes passing away from breast cancer in 2014.
While Ong has expressed a desire to enjoy life without the pressures of a serious relationship, he is open to dating. He remarked on the notion of marriage, stating, “the moment I get married, it becomes a bit unsexy already.” He believes that remaining unmarried allows for more freedom in relationships, suggesting he could be in a long-term partnership without the label of marriage.
Addressing the significant age gap with Lazo, Ong’s perspective is clear. “Why not? If a girl who is 25 years old and I vibe, I’m completely fine with that,” he said, challenging critics of their age difference. He emphasized that everyone deserves the right to pursue happiness, regardless of societal judgments.
As Ong navigates this new chapter, his candid remarks about life, relationships, and personal freedom resonate with many who find themselves in similar situations.
