Gene Solutions and AMPATH Open Advanced Genomics Lab in Hyderabad
Gene Solutions, a prominent player in genetic testing within Asia, has partnered with AMPATH (American Institute of Pathology and Laboratory Sciences) to inaugurate a new advanced genomics laboratory in Hyderabad. This initiative, launched on October 1, 2025, aims to enhance access to precision medicine through advanced diagnostic technologies across India.
The collaboration combines AMPATH’s extensive diagnostic network, which includes over 20 satellite laboratories and more than 2,000 collection points, with Gene Solutions’ expertise in genomics. This partnership is expected to facilitate timely and accessible next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, particularly in critical areas such as reproductive health, cancer screening, and personalized medicine.
Enhancing Patient Care with Advanced Technologies
The new NGS laboratory in Hyderabad will play a pivotal role in integrating genomics into routine diagnostics. By leveraging AMPATH’s well-established infrastructure, the facility will offer advanced genomic testing that supports better clinical decision-making. This collaboration is designed to contribute significantly to patient care, focusing on the development of innovative solutions that directly impact health outcomes.
Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nghia, Co-founder and CEO of Gene Solutions, emphasized the partnership’s goal: “This collaboration reflects a shared vision—making high-quality, science-driven genetic testing more widely available. We believe that technology should be inclusive. Working with AMPATH allows us to deliver advanced solutions through a familiar and trusted healthcare network.”
Dr. Maneesh Bagai, COO of AMPATH, expressed enthusiasm about the alliance, stating, “We are thrilled to expand into next-generation sequencing through this strategic partnership. Together, we are redefining what’s possible in diagnostics—whether it’s in maternal health, early cancer detection, or personalized oncology with a patient-centric approach.”
Commitment to Precision Medicine
AMPATH is recognized for its adherence to international standards in clinical diagnostics. The organization operates a Central Reference Laboratory in Hyderabad, supported by accreditation from the NABL. This position allows AMPATH to play an essential role in advancing precision medicine by facilitating early disease detection and personalized treatment strategies across various medical specialties, especially oncology.
Gene Solutions is noted for its innovative contributions to genetic testing and research across the Asia-Pacific region. Utilizing advanced technologies like NGS and Artificial Intelligence, the company provides a comprehensive portfolio, including non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) and cancer screening via circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA). With more than two million genetic tests delivered, Gene Solutions is committed to enhancing the scope of precision medicine through ongoing research and development.
The establishment of this advanced genomics laboratory marks a significant step towards making cutting-edge genetic testing more accessible to patients and healthcare providers in India. As both organizations work together, they aim to redefine the landscape of diagnostics and patient care in the region.
