William Saliba Signs Long-Term Contract with Arsenal Until 2030
Defender William Saliba has solidified his commitment to Arsenal by signing a long-term contract that extends his stay at the club until 2030. The announcement was made on Tuesday, coinciding with reports of interest from Real Madrid in the talented centre back.
Saliba has been instrumental in Arsenal’s defensive lineup, forming a strong partnership with Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes. Since his transfer from French club St Etienne in 2019, he has made a remarkable 140 appearances across all competitions. His contributions have been vital in elevating Arsenal’s performance in the highly competitive Premier League.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised Saliba’s impact at the club, stating, “William is loved by all the players and staff, and that speaks volumes about his character, commitment, and attitude every day.” Arteta highlighted Saliba’s growth and his ability to connect with supporters, underscoring the importance of his presence within the team.
Looking ahead, Arsenal aims to break a league title drought that has now stretched to 21 years. The club finished as runners-up in the last three Premier League seasons, demonstrating their competitiveness. During the recent transfer window, Arsenal made significant signings to bolster their squad. New arrivals include Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, and English forwards Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze, along with Spanish defender Cristhian Mosquera.
Saliba’s decision to extend his contract is a clear indication of his belief in Arsenal’s vision and ambitions. As the club continues to strengthen its roster, fans and players alike look forward to what lies ahead in the coming seasons.
