NITI Aayog Unveils Comprehensive Report on India’s Innovation Landscape

A new report from the NITI Aayog, released on September 23, 2023, provides an in-depth analysis of India’s journey in science, technology, and innovation. The document, titled “Pathways to Progress: Analysis and Insights into India’s Innovation Story,” offers a comprehensive evaluation of the country’s achievements, challenges, and future opportunities to bolster its status as a global innovation hub.

Dr. Deepak Bagla, Mission Director of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), spoke at the report’s launch. Dr. VK Saraswat, a member of NITI Aayog, emphasized the significance of science, technology, and innovation in shaping the nation’s development. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the progress made in establishing a robust innovation ecosystem in India. He called for leveraging the country’s youth and institutional strengths to cultivate innovation that is both scalable and inclusive. Pradhan articulated a vision of positioning India as a global brand for excellence in knowledge, science, and technology.
The NITI Aayog report lays out strategic recommendations for fostering deep technology innovation, enhancing knowledge creation, and improving global integration. It advocates for scaling successful models of innovation and building capacity across various states to ensure that India remains competitive in the global innovation landscape.
