Rui En Introduces Collagen-Infused Mooncakes for Charity

Rui En, a prominent Singaporean actress, has launched a new line of collagen-infused mooncakes in collaboration with Gryphon, a premium tea brand. This initiative aims to support an 80-year-old widower, Mr. Tan, who has dedicated his life to caring for his adult daughter with disabilities. The mooncakes will be available for pre-order starting at 20:00 on September 11 through En’s official website.

In a continuation of her charitable efforts, Rui En previously sold bak kwa, a traditional Chinese snack, during the Chinese New Year, with proceeds benefiting children with disabilities. Her latest venture is designed to celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, which emphasizes themes of reunion and family unity.

Rui En expressed her motivation for this project, stating, “Mid-Autumn Festival is about reunion and family unity. After the overwhelming response to our Chinese New Year bak kwa, we wanted to continue that spirit of love.” She learned about Mr. Tan’s situation through acquaintances in her acting career and felt compelled to support him after hearing the poignant stories of elderly caregivers who worry about their children with disabilities.

The collaboration with Gryphon arose from Rui En’s personal admiration for their teas. The mooncakes come in two distinct flavors: the Pearl of the Orient Baked Skin Mooncake, which features jasmine green tea-infused white lotus paste with crimson rose and marine collagen, and the Mandarin Osmanthus, consisting of white lotus paste steeped with osmanthus pouchong tea and candied orange peel, also enriched with collagen.

In addition to these flavors, Rui En is offering a separate line of petite Mao Shan Wang snow skin mooncakes made from MSW durians sourced from Pahang, Malaysia. According to Rui En’s public relations representative, the actress was excited to share her first experience of durian mooncakes with Mr. Tan during a promotional shoot for the brand.

For those interested in purchasing these artisanal mooncakes, a special bundle is available that includes one box of baked collagen and tea mooncakes along with a box of durian snow skin mooncakes, priced at S$196.

Rui En’s initiative not only highlights her entrepreneurial spirit but also underscores her commitment to social causes, demonstrating how food can be a medium for compassion and support in the community.
