Borussia Dortmund Signs Fabio Silva from Wolves for €22.5 Million
Portuguese forward Fabio Silva has officially transferred from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Borussia Dortmund, signing a contract that will keep him with the Bundesliga club until June 2030. The deal, announced on Friday, involves an initial fee of €22.5 million (approximately $26.34 million).
Silva, who made his international debut last year, joined Wolves in 2020. Over his three-year tenure, he spent significant time on loan at various clubs, including Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven, Rangers, and Las Palmas. His most recent performance saw him score 10 LaLiga goals in 24 appearances for Las Palmas during the last season.
Silva’s Ambitions with Dortmund
Expressing enthusiasm about his new journey, Silva stated, “I know BVB as a passionate club with incredible fans. Now being part of it myself fills me with pride and great anticipation.” He emphasized his commitment to integrate quickly into the team and contribute to their success.
Dortmund, currently participating in the Champions League, faced a draw in their opening Bundesliga match against St Pauli last weekend. They are set to host Union Berlin on Sunday, aiming to secure their first win of the season.
The club’s acquisition of Silva highlights their strategy to bolster the squad with young talent, while Silva seeks to establish himself in a competitive league and further his career in professional football.
