I’m really glad that I stayed strong in that first set,” she added. Sabalenka quickly regained her composure, leading 3-1 after another unforced error from Kudermetova.

With momentum firmly on her side, Sabalenka secured the match, marking another step towards her goal of defending her title. She now prepares to face Leylah Fernandez, the runner-up from 2021, in what promises to be an exciting rematch of their semi-final from four years ago.
