Shaun Chen Offers Support for Ex-Wife Michelle Chia’s New Marriage

Actor Shaun Chen has publicly expressed his support for his ex-wife, Michelle Chia, following her recent marriage to actor-turned-property agent Jackson B. Chia, aged 50, and Jackson, 41, tied the knot earlier this month, prompting discussions among fans and followers, including Chen, who spoke candidly about the news during a recent livestream.
Live Stream Discussion on Personal Matters
On August 22, 2023, Chen participated in a livestream hosted by local influencer Tai Tai Chan as part of Mediacorp’s e-commerce show, The Wonder Shop. During the 51-minute broadcast, the topic of Chia’s marriage surfaced when Chan mentioned that she was unaware of Chen’s personal life, except for the fact that he had been married twice. This comment opened the door for Chen to address the speculation directly.
Despite the presence of approximately 400 viewers, Chen revealed that many people had been hesitant to inquire about his feelings regarding Chia’s new relationship. He chuckled as he recounted that while he was in Australia when the news broke, friends and acquaintances avoided discussing it with him. “Only when we met then they were like: ‘Eh so that thing…,” he said, laughing at their reluctance.
Supportive Sentiments and Moving On
Addressing the situation head-on, Chen stated, “It’s none of my business! [Our marriage] was so long ago, there are no feelings anymore. She’s my good friend, so I give her my blessings.” His response reflects a mature perspective on their past relationship, which lasted from 2009 to 2011.
Chen and Chia dated for six years before marrying, and they have both since moved on. Chen later married Malaysian beautician Celine Chin in 2015, with whom he shares two daughters: Nellie, nine, and Neia, seven. The actor’s light-heartedness during the livestream highlighted his comfort with his current life and relationships.
As Chan attempted to delve deeper into Chen’s current marriage, he playfully interjected, “Don’t talk about this anymore,” emphasizing his desire to keep the focus on positive sentiments towards Chia. The co-host then suggested inviting Chen’s wife to join the livestream in the future, to which he responded enthusiastically, indicating that she would be an honest and engaging presence on the show.
In summary, Shaun Chen’s remarks during the livestream demonstrate a supportive attitude toward his ex-wife’s new marriage, affirming their friendship and shared history. His cheerful demeanor and willingness to engage with fans about personal matters reflect a level of maturity and acceptance that resonates with many viewers.
