Rahul Mishra Unveils Love-Inspired Couture at India Couture Week 2025

Renowned designer Rahul Mishra showcased his latest collection at the India Couture Week 2025, emphasizing the theme of “Becoming Love.” This event, held in March 2025, follows a previous presentation in Paris and seeks to explore the intricate dimensions of love through artistic expression and craftsmanship.
Mishra’s collection draws inspiration from nature and storytelling, reflecting a profound understanding of love as a multifaceted human experience. He likens love to the Moon, a celestial body born of the Earth yet influencing its tides and rhythms. This metaphor serves as a foundation for his collection, which combines elements from Mughal miniature paintings and the atmospheric works of artists like Claude Monet and Gustav Klimt. The designs include hand-embroidered interpretations of pointillism, capturing romantic landscapes and intricate details through thousands of delicate stitches.
In collaboration with Rivaah by Tanishq, the bridal jewellery partner, Mishra’s collection celebrates seven traditional Indian craftsmanship techniques. These include Meenakari, Badroom ka Kaam, and Filigree, each representing a stage in the Sufi understanding of love’s evolution—from attraction to devotion. The combination of couture and jewellery reflects a deep respect for tradition and artistry, enhancing the emotional narrative of the collection.
“Rivaah by Tanishq brings with it an incredible heritage of craftsmanship, one that speaks to the same values we hold dear,” said Rahul Mishra. “This collaboration felt natural because both our worlds centre around storytelling—whether through thread or through gold.”
The intricate designs were crafted by over 2,000 artisans, who utilized traditional techniques such as aari and zardozi. Fabrics like silk organza and velvet were paired with embellishments including pearls and sequins, showcasing a blend of modern innovation and time-honoured craftsmanship. According to Mishra, the act of making these pieces serves as a meditation, reaffirming couture as a living tradition of emotional expression.
Pelki Tshering, Chief Marketing Officer of Tanishq, commented on the partnership, stating, “We’re overjoyed to bring Rivaah to the grand opening of India Couture Week in collaboration with Rahul Mishra. This showcase is a tribute to the timeless synergy between couture and craft, and most of all, to the Indian bride.”
Rivaah by Tanishq aims to cater to the contemporary Indian bride, offering designs that reflect not only traditional values but also modern sensibilities. The collection is crafted for various wedding celebrations, encompassing engagements and receptions, and emphasizes the journey of the bride as she navigates her unique story.
The grand event featured actress Tamannaah Bhatia as the showstopper, who expressed her excitement about participating in Mishra’s showcase. “Walking for him tonight was truly an honour,” she noted, highlighting the artistry and emotional depth inherent in each piece.
Rivaah by Tanishq, part of the esteemed TATA Group, has long been recognized for its superior craftsmanship and commitment to quality. With over 500 boutiques in more than 300 cities, Tanishq has established itself as a leader in the Indian jewellery market, striving to meet the diverse aspirations of Indian women.
The India Couture Week 2025 not only marked a significant moment for Mishra and Tanishq but also celebrated the rich tapestry of Indian culture, artistry, and the timeless narrative of love.
