Light To Night 2026 Unveils Exciting Art Installations and Performances
The annual Light To Night festival returns for its 10th edition, scheduled from January 9 to 31, 2026, in the Civic District of Singapore. This year’s theme, “The Power In Us,” promises an extended celebration with an array of installations, projection mappings, and free music performances, making it the longest-running festival to date.
Engaging Projection Mappings
Projection mappings are a hallmark of the Light To Night festival, and this year features five captivating displays across three prominent locations. Visitors can explore the National Gallery Singapore to experience “Ansiblomoo,” created by Singaporean artist Fyerool Darma, and “Memory Gesture” by Vietnamese artist Ngoc Nau. The former is a four-minute projection showcasing a synthetic thread that morphs into intricate fibre-optic ecosystems. The latter highlights Vietnam’s agricultural landscape, offering a visual feast for all.
At The Arts House at the Old Parliament, attendees can enjoy “Larut’s Tears” by the Gerimis Art Project and Youngsook Choi, alongside “Start Here: From Every Vantage Point,” which captures the sentiments of youth not currently engaged in education, employment, or training. Additionally, the Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall will present “Flower Power,” a collaborative work between visual artist Noah Tan and pianist Dr. Azariah Tan.

Innovative Installations and Community Engagement
A unique addition to this year’s festival is the Santai series, showcasing specially commissioned installations across various sites, including Padang, Empress Lawn, and Esplanade Park. One notable piece is “Untitled Gathering” by Michael Lin, featuring hand-painted wooden furniture adorned with batik-inspired motifs at the National Gallery Singapore. This interactive installation invites visitors to engage by sitting, moving, and rearranging the furniture, thus becoming co-creators of the artwork.
“Untitled Gathering” will be available for exploration from January 9 to 31, with hours set for Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 and weekends from 10:00 to 23:00 at the National Gallery Singapore, City Hall Wing, Level 3.
Another highlight is “Singaporama,” a culmination of a year-long project by Thai artist Navin Rawanchaikul. This display features panoramic billboard paintings reminiscent of vintage cinema posters, supplemented by video interviews and a travelogue reflecting the diverse communities within Singapore. “Singaporama” will be on view from January 9 until November 2026.
Art, Food, and Community Festival Village
Visitors can also enjoy live performances, food, and craft experiences at Art X Social: Festival Village, located on St Andrew’s Road and the Empress Lawn. A variety of culinary delights will be provided by local vendors, including The Swag Social and Slurp Your Oysters. A special pet fair will take place on January 23 and 24, featuring activities and vendors catering to animal lovers.
Art X Social: Festival Village will be open on select dates, with hours from 18:00 to 23:30 on St Andrew’s Road and 17:00 to 23:30 on Empress Lawn.
For fans of K-pop, the festival will feature the second edition of the Namjooning Trail, titled “We Are Bulletproof: Armylogue.” This event pairs artworks from the UOB Southeast Asia Gallery and DBS Singapore Gallery with solo tracks from members of the globally renowned group BTS. While participation is free, registration is required through the designated website. The trail is set for January 17, 24, and 31, from 14:00 to 15:30 and 17:00 to 18:30 at the National Gallery Singapore, City Hall Wing, Level 2.
With a diverse lineup of activities and installations, the Light To Night festival 2026 promises to be a vibrant celebration of art and community engagement, showcasing both local and international talent.
