iQIYI Scream Night 2025 Celebrates Creativity and Innovation
On December 6, 2025, iQIYI hosted its annual Scream Night at the Galaxy Arena in Macao, celebrating creativity and industry momentum with 63 honors awarded across six categories. The event attracted over 100 celebrities, industry leaders, and thousands of fans, with hundreds of millions streaming the ceremony globally. Now in its 11th year, the Scream Night has become a significant barometer for the entertainment industry, showcasing standout productions and talents while connecting creators directly with audiences.
As part of this year’s festivities, the event expanded to include a two-day “iQIYI Scream Carnival” at the Galaxy International Convention Center Forecourt Area. The festival featured live performances and interactive showcases, providing fans with an immersive experience alongside the main ceremony.
Honoring Excellence in Entertainment
The ceremony recognized a variety of productions across different genres. In the drama category, “Thriving Land” won the title of “Top Drama of the Year,” while “Rose Finch” was awarded “Short Drama of the Year.” Yu GONG, iQIYI’s Founder and CEO, along with Chief Content Officer Xiaohui WANG and screenwriter Heping LIU, presented awards to six original dramas that achieved a content popularity index exceeding 10,000, a benchmark for blockbuster status on the platform. This year’s selections utilized a new four-tier evaluation system aimed at surfacing premium content recommendations for users.
In the variety show segment, “The King of Stand-up Comedy 2” was recognized as the “Influential Show of the Year.” Other notable winners included “HAHAHAHAHA 5,” “The Blooming Journey 2,” and “Become a Farmer 3,” which collectively received the “Variety Show of the Year” honors. The top accolade for film went to “The Shadow’s Edge,” the highest-rated Chinese crime action movie of the decade.
The event also acknowledged international contributions with seven honors for global excellence and acting awards based on audience engagement. Highlighting advancements in technology, director Youxue CHEN‘s film “Under the Fireworks Lies My Home” won iQIYI’s inaugural AI Short Film Competition. This initiative, in collaboration with ByteDance and Google, aims to integrate generative AI into storytelling.
Renewed Partnership with Galaxy Arena
In a significant development following the event, iQIYI and Galaxy Arena announced a renewed three-year strategic partnership on December 9. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration across large-scale events, variety shows, and film and television production. The partnership is expected to contribute to Macao’s evolution as a “City of Performing Arts,” while also bolstering iQIYI’s offline entertainment presence.
