Tisca Chopra Takes the Helm: Directs ‘Saali Mohabbat’ Debut
Actress Tisca Chopra has made her directorial debut with the film ‘Saali Mohabbat’, a project that intertwines drama, emotion, and unexpected plot twists. The film, featuring acclaimed actress Radhika Apte, explores the complexities of relationships, secrets, and ambition, offering viewers a rich narrative experience.
In discussing her transition to directing, Chopra revealed her motivation was driven by necessity. She stated, “I became a director out of necessity. I’m telling you, I only became one because I didn’t want to reach a point where I had no work. So I thought, I’ll write it myself and make it myself. That’s why I became a director.” This candid perspective underscores her determination to take control of her storytelling and creative expression.
Film’s Unique Appeal
Produced by Manish Malhotra, ‘Saali Mohabbat’ is set to captivate audiences with its bold storytelling and compelling character arcs. The film boasts a talented cast, including Divyenndu Sharma, Anurag Kashyap, Anshumaan Pushkar, Sharat Saxena, and Sauraseni Maitra, with a special cameo by Kusha Kapila.
Radhika Apte has praised Chopra’s guidance during the filming process. She stated, “The trailer captures the unsettling stillness of Smita’s world. Playing her meant sitting with emotions that aren’t always easy to define, and that challenge was incredibly rewarding. Tisca’s guidance helped me find that fragile balance between quiet vulnerability and hidden strength.” Apte’s character, Smita, presents a complex persona, appearing reserved yet powerful, embodying the idea that one should never underestimate a quiet woman.
